Important Fee Notes

  • I-765 (EAD) fee is $260 when filed concurrently with I-485 (AOS). Most (but not all) forms offer an online filing discount — typically around $50 less than the paper fee. The exact discount varies by form. Always check uscis.gov for the specific online vs. paper fee for your form.
  • I-485 includes biometrics — the $85 biometric services fee is now bundled into the $1,440 total.
  • Fee waivers are limited and generally not available for most family-based adjustment applications (such as I-485, I-765, I-131 filed with AOS). Eligibility depends on the form category and should be verified individually.
  • Premium Processing ($2,965) applies to I-129, I-140, and select other petitions (expanded eligibility) — it guarantees 15 business day adjudication, not approval.
  • Checks must be payable to "U.S. Department of Homeland Security." Do not abbreviate.
  • Fees are generally non-refundable even if your petition is denied.
